Shipping & Underwater Inspections

We can inspect and survey any size vessel. Our diving teams are equipped with the latest technology, including high resolution cameras and CCTV video, and can provide a full report including technical drawings and CADs if required. Our inspections are not limited to shipping and can also be carried out on floating pontoons, jetties, bridges, barges, and canal/river boats.

Running Gear Fouling

When something gets wrapped around your propellor or thruster it is important that that is cleared away as quickly as possible. We provide a 24 hour call out service to remove any rope, wiring, tyres, silt, or debris that may be preventing your propellor from working properly. Our divers have a lot of experience in clearing fouled running gear and can be on site within a matter of hours.

Inlet Cleaning/Blanking

Similar to our ship inspections, we can prevent the need to dry dock by locating and clearing blocked sea chests and inlets on vessels of all sizes. This involves diving to a location where the valve is situated, in order to blank off the holes using wooden bungs, neoprene patches, magnetic seals or foam seals. These can also be used to stop water ingress, should any part of the hull become comprised.

As our underwater work is carried out in a variety of locations nationwide, it is important that we have a portable dive system that can be transported by road or by air, for use on river and seabeds. At Kew Diving Services we have a variety of portable dive systems with various lengths of umbilical, that enable us to use CCTV video recording whilst on the move.

We are registered with HSE as an Inland/Inshore Diving Contractor and are able to offer a number of subsea demolition services. At Kew Diving Services we are constantly looking for ways to reduce the impact that our demolition works have on the environment. This is why we work hard to survey all areas before we even cause a ripple in the ocean to ensure that all marine life is protected and that any debris is safely taken away.
