Challenge & Results
Chatham Maritime Trust uses an old basin within Chatham Docks as a watersports centre, teaching children and adults how to sail, kayak and windsurf as well as a host of other water based experiences and activities.
As the water within the basin remains relatively still throughout the year, marine growth dies and sinks to the bottom of the basin. This can result in a build up of dangerous gasses that can drastically affect the PH level of the water. In order to ensure that this does not happen an aeration system was installed a few years ago to introduce air flow to the bottom of the basin to safely disburse the gasses.
Unfortunately the aeration lines were no longer working efficiently, with the air lines parting, and so we were called to rectify the issue. In order to ensure that the water remained within a safe limit for the use of watersports, our divers recovered and relaid the lines in order to get the air flowing evenly throughout the basin once again.
We are experts in underwater construction services, within this service we can install and repair pipelines in underwater environments. Our expert divers will ensure that pipeline networks built for conduction are sufficiently sealed so that they can successfully transfer water from one place to another.
